            Although the actual Green has been in situ since the 1920's at Ronaldshay Park, Quakers Lane, adjacent to the Cricket Club, Richmond ( Yorks ) Bowls Club was formed in 1951 and is open to members and visitors during the season (April- October), from 1pm til dusk Monday to Friday and all day at weekends.  Free 'Taster' sessions take place each Wednesday at 2pm for those wanting to take up this healthy activity.

   Mission Statement - Richmond (Yorks) Bowls Club

         Our mission is to provide excellent bowling and club facilities for the benefit

of all members and our guests.  In satisfying this purpose, Richmond (Yorks) Bowls Club aims to INSPIRE through :-

  1. Increasing and attracting new membership by promoting the club as a place where fun and friendship are fostered.

  2. Notifying and encouraging members to attend and participate in tournaments and club events.

  3. Supporting members by providing friendly and constructive instruction which will encourage them  to play the game to the best of their ability.

  4. Providing a harmonious social environment for members, their families, visitors and guests.

  5. Involving our club in the community by making our facilities available to schools, local groups, disabled people and other organisations.

  6. Recognising and maintaining the integrity and respect of the sport and that of its fellow members.

  7. Ensuring that all bowlers are given the opportunity to reach their full potential.

      William Gilbert Grace an English Cricket legend was important in the development of that sport also played Lawn Bowls and became England's first Captain, then President and  was instrumental  in amalgamating British bowling  clubs & district affiliations  into what has become  world wide organisations.
