A Welcome from the President

I am honoured to take up the reigns as Club President for 2026 of our great club. This year
is going to be a very special year for Richmond Bowls Club, as we celebrate our 75th
Anniversary and I’m hoping together, we can make this a special year of fun and celebration.
Richmond is a great Club, not only for its splendid location but also for its past
achievements earned by the dedication of our past members. During my short membership
with the Club, I have been privileged to play alongside most of you. Although we have not
always been top of the leagues, we have all given 100 percent but most importantly we have
enjoyed our bowls - maybe, this is our year to shine.

A club’s success is mainly dependant on the hard work, commitment and participation by its
members, so please continue to support all activities, both on and off the green, where you
can. Therefore, I would like to offer my thanks to the team captains, the committee and the
team of hard-working volunteers who continue to give so much of their time and without
whom the club would not exist.

We now have plans for the 2026 Season activities, both during the season and after the
season finishes. My hope is to have a few more social activities combined with our Bowls for
you and of course your families to enjoy, should you all wish to get involved. Although I fully
understand that we all have busy lives and other activities we enjoy. Therefore, I can’t expect
everyone to attend all the activities. To that end, the Committee will be publishing well in
advance what will be going on throughout the year for your diary.

Therefore, I would just like to reiterate, let’s make 2026 a year to remember, The club
Executives will be working hard this season to make 2026 a success. All I would ask is that
you try and support the Club, your Captains and the Committee wherever possible.

Warmest Regards

Peter Brown
